This week in Reading, we read the story “Nature Spy” and discussed what nature looks like when you look at it closely. Our letter of the week was Ss!  We continued working with syllables, rhyming, blending, and segmenting and talked about the setting of a story.  In Math, we continued working with counting, reading, and writing numbers 1-5.

Next week, we will be reading the story “Animal Babies in Grasslands” and discussing different animals that live in the grasslands. Our letter of the week will be Pp and we will learn about the main idea of a story. In Math, we will be tested on our numbers to 5 and will start our topic on comparing and ordering numbers 0-5.

Reminders:

• ·    Don’t forget that Library day is Day 3 and your child will need to return their library book on that day!
• ·    Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on Monday, November 9th. There is no school for students. Please hand in the schedule confirmation sheet as soon as possible! Thank you!
• ·    Report cards will be distributed on Friday, November 6th.
• ·    We go outside for recess every day. Now that it is getting colder, please be sure that your child is dressed warm enough for the weather. Thank you!
• ·    Fall Festival was a huge success – thank you to all of those who volunteered their time to help out!
