This week in Reading, we read the story “Flowers” and discussed how flowers are unique. Our letter of the week was Aa!  We continued working with syllables, rhyming, blending, and segmenting and learned how to compare and contrast.  In Math, we continued work with and were tested on counting!

Next week, we will be reading the story “Nature Spy” and discussing what we can learn about nature by looking closely. Our letter of the week will be Ss and we will learn about the “setting” of a story. In Math, we will compare and order number 0-5. We are working with terms such as more than, fewer than, and same as.


Reminders:
  •  Don’t forget that Library day is Day 2 and your child will need to return their library book on that day!
  • Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  If you’d like to keep a sweater or jacket here at school, please make sure that your child’s name is labeled on the tag! Thank you!
  • Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held on November 10th please check your childs folder for papers regarding scheduling! Times that are taken include: 12:30, 2:45, 4:30, 4:45, 5:00, and 5:30. If possible, please choose other times. Thank you!


Monday, October 27th, will be Day 3 and we will have Gym!
**Please remember to wear gym clothes/sneakers!

Friday, October 31st will be our Halloween parade & party, starting at 2:00! Students are to report to school in school clothes. We will help them get dressed in their costumes prior to the parade!

Last week in Reading, we continued reading the story “Dig, Dig, Digging” and discussed how machines help people. Our letter of the week was Tt. We continued working with syllables, rhyming, blending, and segmenting.  In Math, we started our unit on counting.

This week, we will be reading the story “Flowers” and discussing how flowers are unique. Our letter of the week will be Aa and we will learn how to compare and contrast. We will learn two new words: have, is. In Math, we will continue working with counting, arranging, and writing the numbers 4 and 5. Students will also be tested on counting up to 5.

REMINDERS:

  • Don’t forget that Library day is Day 2 and your child will need to return their library book on that day.
  • Please make sure that your child is dressed appropriately for the weather.  If you’d like to keep a sweater or jacket here at school, please make sure that your child’s name is labeled on the tag. Thank you.

Due to Fall Festival and the half day, we will continue reading the story “Dig, Dig, Digging” into next week and continue learning the letter Tt.  In Math, we will start our unit on counting.

Last week in Reading, we read the story “Smash! Crash!” and discussed friendship. Our letter of the week was Mm! We continued working with syllables, rhyming and blending.  In Math, we compared and built with solid shapes.
 
This week, we will begin reading the story “Dig, Dig, Digging” and discuss how machines help people.  In Math, we will be tested on comparing solid shapes and will start our unit on counting.

·       Fall Festival will be held on Thursday, October 9th. If you haven’t already done so, please send in $4.00.
·       Please remember that Friday, October 10th is a half day for students.
