This week in Reading, we read the story “Little Panda” and discussed a panda’s first year of life. We saw live footage of a panda from the San Diego Zoo on their “Panda Cam.” Our letter of the week was Nn as in Net! We worked hard on segmenting words into their sounds and blending sounds into words. In Math, we worked on reading, writing, and counting numbers to 10.

Next week, we will begin reading “Little Quack” and discussing what new things you can do as you get older. We will be learning all about the letter Rr as in River. We will discuss new words such as duckling, plunge, pond, paddle, proud, and brave. In Math, we will be tested on reading, writing, and counting numbers to 10 and will begin comparing and ordering numbers to 10. **Please continue to practice counting to 100 by ones and tens and writing numbers to 20.

·       *Please be sure that your child is wearing a heavy coat, gloves, and hat to school every day, we go outside for recess!

·       *Brain Show Mania will be held on Thursday, December 15th.
·       *There have been some dress code concerns and questions, so, to clear up any misunderstandings with the dress code a “what is accepted” and “what is not accepted” note will be coming home with your child. **The main issues have been with yoga pants/leggings being worn for gym class or as pants, and “colored” skirts for girls. Please read carefully and be sure to dress your child accordingly. Thank you!
