This week we finished reading the story “Then and Now” and talked about how things we use today are different from things we use long ago. We reviewed the letter Oo and learned how to draw conclusions. Next week, we will be reading the story “The Lion and the Mouse” and learning about what causes us to feel the way we feel.

In Math, we were tested on comparing and ordering numbers 1-10. Next week, we will begin our topic on numbers to 20.

Today, we did a lot of fun activities for Inauguration Day. We discussed the history of the inauguration, the job of the President, and who Donald Trump is. We also discussed what we would do if we were the POTUS. Students had a great time watching the live stream of Trump becoming our 45th President.

REMINDERS:
-Please continue to have your child study their sight words on a nightly basis. We did not have a chance to test them this week, but next week I will begin testing again.
-Things to practice at home: counting to 100, writing numbers to 20, comparing numbers & quantities, breaking words down into sounds, blending sounds into words, rhyming, and counting syllables.

Monday, January 23rd will be Day 9 and we will have Art!
