This week in Reading, we read the story “Dig, Dig, Digging” and discussed how machines help people. Our letter of the week was Tt! In Math, we worked on reading, writing, and counting numbers 1-5.

This week was Fire Prevention Week! We read stories and did many activities on how to stay safe during a fire and how to prevent them. Some things we discussed: “Don’t hide, get outside.” “Stay low and go!” “Stop, drop, and roll!”  We discussed the importance of checking the batteries in our smoke alarms, calling 911 in an emergency, and leaving matches and lighters to grown-ups. The kids did a great job of presenting their escape plans to their classmates. I was very impressed with their work!
