This week in Reading, we read the story “A Bed for the Winter” and discussed what kind of home animals need. Our letter of the week was Ii. We continued practicing our sight words, segmenting (breaking down words into sounds), blending (blending sounds together to form words), and our short and long vowel sounds. We also differentiated between realism and fantasy.  In Math, we were tested on comparing and ordering numbers 0-5.

Next week, we will be learning all about the Pilgrims, the Native Americans, and the history of Thanksgiving! We will be doing some fun activities to help us learn all about the special holiday.

Reminders:
  • Please continue to have your child practice their sight words each night. I am very impressed by the progress that some have shown! Keep up the great work!!
  • Tuesday will be Sweatpants Day. Students are allowed to wear sweats to school to promote Diabetes Awareness. Please donate $1.
