Miss Woodring and I wish you a happy and healthy New Year!

This week in Reading, we will be reading the story "Little Quack" and discussing what new things a duckling learns as it grows. Our letter of the week is Rr. We will be reviewing realism and fantasy, plot, and sequence. We will also be touching on verbs.

In Math, we will be getting more practice with comparing and ordering numbers 0-10. We will be testing on Thursday! Friday we will start introducing numbers up to 20.

In Science, we will be starting our unit on "Objects." We will discuss what objects are made of and their characteristics.

REMINDERS:
  • Please continue to read at home with your child & fill out the January Log in your child's folder. Please include the date, the title of the story, and your signature in addition to coloring in the picture each day. Thank you.
    • If you're child reads 10 or more books, they will receive a small prize in our classroom. If they read 16 books, they will be entered in a school wide drawing to win a bicycle at the end of the year.
  • Please be sure that your child is properly dressed for the cold weather: hats, gloves, heavy jacket, etc. We go outside most days for recess. Thank you.
  • Friday, January 9th will be GYM day -- please dress accordingly.
