Last week in Reading, we read the story “Mayday! Mayday!” and discussed types of transportation that help us in an emergency. We learned about the letter Xx and discussed cause and effect.

This week, we will be reading the story “Trucks Roll” and learning about what kinds of transportation help people do their jobs. We will be learning the letter Uu. We will focus on how to compare and contrast two items.

In Math, we started working with composing and decomposing numbers 8, 9, and 10.

This week, we will start composing numbers 11-19.

REMINDERS:

• Please continue to read at home with your child & fill out the April Log in your child’s folder. *If he/she reads 10 or more books, they will receive a small prize in our classroom. If he/she reads 16 books, they will be entered in a school wide drawing to win a bicycle at the end of the year. Thank you!
• PSSA testing has begun!! Please refer to the rotation calendar that was sent home regarding our specials schedule. We will not be having specials classes Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday. Please encourage your child to be quiet in the hallways to respect those who are testing.
• The United States Project will be due Friday, April 24^th.
• Please return the pink form regarding the Kindergarten Graduation DVD as soon as possible.
