This week in Reading, we read the story “Flowers” and discussed how flowers are unique. Our letter of the week was Aa!  We continued working with syllables, rhyming, blending, and segmenting and learned how to compare and contrast.  In Math, we focused on reading, writing, and counting numbers 1-5.

Next week, we will be reading the story “Nature Spy” and discussing what we can learn about nature by looking closely. Our letter of the week will be Ss and we will learn about the setting of a story, or where the story takes place. In Math, we will be tested on our numbers to 5 and begin comparing and ordering numbers 0-5. We will be working with terms such as more than, fewer than, and same as.

Students had a great time shopping at the Book Fair this week! Normal library classes will resume next week.

·         *Scholastic Book Orders for the month of October are due on Monday, October 24^th.

·         *October Reading Logs are due by Friday, October 28^th!

·         *Next week is Red Ribbon Week! Spirit Days are as follows: Monday – wear sweatpants, Tuesday – wear crazy socks, Wednesday – backwards day, Thursday – crazy hair day, Friday – Spartan Spirit day!

·         *The Halloween Parade will begin at 2:00 at the Spartan Stadium. Parents are welcome to come and watch the parade. Kindergarten will be opening the parade, so arrive early if planning to attend! **Unfortunately, Kindergarten will not be having parent helpers in the classroom to celebrate due to the limited time frame.

·         *The Kindergarten Field Trip to the Bloomsburg Theatre will take place on Thursday, December 1^{st –} more information to follow. Thank you to all of those who handed back their permission slips!

Monday, October 24th, will be Day 7 and we will have Computers.
