This week we started reading the story “The Lion and the Mouse” and talked about how our feelings can change. We continued with the letter Oo and discussed the main idea of a story. Our amazing words for this story are: jungle, beast, snarled, nibbling, trembling, and entangled.

In Math, we started a new topic Numbers to 100, which is just in time for our 100th day of school. Our 100th day of school was moved 2 days forward because we had 2 snow days this week, 1/25 and 1/26. The new 100th day date is now Friday February 5th, 2016. Please continue to think of fun ideas on how your child can dress as if he/she is 100 years old!!!

New February Reading Logs will be sent home this weekend. Please continue to read with your child and fill in all information on the new log.

Tuesday February 2nd is Groundhog Day. We watched a short video on groundhogs and will be voting whether or not Phil will see his shadow!

REMINDERS:

·      Sometimes our classroom is chilly. Please feel free to send in sweater or collared zip up to be left in your child’s cubby to wear during the day, just make sure that it is labeled with their name.
·      Please practice counting to 100 by 1’s, 5’s, and 10’s with your child.

Monday February 1st, will be day 4 and we will have Art! Please note: if school is closed our scheduled day will bump to the next school day.
