This week we will do lots of
fun activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day!. Our classroom party will be held
on Thursday February 11th. If you would like your child to share
Valentines with their classmates, please send them in for ALL classmates by
Thursday or before. A class list was sent home last week. If you should need
another copy, feel free to send in a small note.
This week, we will be reading
the story “Rooster’s Off to See the World” and learning about adventures. We
will continue working with the letter Hh and focusing on the sequence of a
story. We will be learning 3 new words: are, do, that. Our new amazing words
are: journey, world, trip, lonely, horizon, and homesick.
In Math, we finished up our
topic on counting to 100. Our 100th day of school was filled with
different activities throughout the day and ended with a snack in the shape of
100! This week will start a new Topic (7) Understanding Addition. This week we may have an extra sheet of
homework coming home for a little extra practice in addition! Students will
learn to join two groups and tell how many there are altogether. They will learn how to use the plus sign and the equal sign and
learn about addition sentences. Please review daily workmats/lessons.
